YMCA Swim Test March 21st

Details: Trailmen will have the opportunity to complete the Swim Test, which is a yearly test to participate in any in/on-water events with the troop. The only exception to this requirement is if a Navigator or Adventurer completes the Aquatics badge. Those boys working on the Aquatics badge will need to bring clothing that will be worn in the pool for at least a portion of the time: a long sleeve shirt, pair of pants, and regular shoes (as per the badge requirements). Please bring appropriate swimwear also, as these clothes are meant to go on over their swimsuit.

Details: After the flag placement we will go to honor our local veteran's at Boonespring Nursing Home. We will meet in parking lot at designated time. We plan to present a wreath in the common area, thank the Veterans, and possibly decorate the doors of the Veterans.

Trip to PFC Sousley's graveside.

Details: Trip to PFC Sousley's graveside. Franklin Sousley was a United States Marine who was killed in action during the Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II. He was one of the six marines who raised the second of two U.S. flags on top of Mount Suribachi on February 23, 1945, as shown in the iconic photograph Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima.

Details: This is the 9th annual Jim Ramey’s Daniel Boone Basecamp 101 with integrated competition between patrols from different troops: archery tag, 22’s, compass challenge course, pugil sticks, tomahawks, catapult competition, etc.This will be an opportunity for our troop to interact with other like-minded Trail Life troops.

Details: Trash for Cash is our annual fundraiser for our Trail Life troop. On this fundraiser, trailmen and families will pick up trash on a rural stretch of road in Boone County, KY. The more participants we have, the quicker the project will go.

Open House Chili Cookoff - Fall 2025

Details: Our Trail Life troop will be holding an open house for new potential troop members. It’s also an opportunity for our troop to get together before our regular meetings start in September. We will have a chili cook-off. Current troop families are encouraged to bring a pot of chili with fixins’ to share with your family and others. The troop will provide drinks.
